Insanity wrote:No, that's not a terrible book. Along other sci-fi books I've read on a scale of 1 to 10, I'll say that Ender's Game rates a 6. Not that bad, really, considering Fahrenheit 451 could barely make a 2 on my scale.
What??? Fahrenheit 451 is an 8, and Ender's Game a 9.

Re: BOOKS! BOOKS!
I tend spark up a lot of opinions, don't I?
anyway, The Dangerous Days of Daniel X and Lord of the Rings. Speaking of the latter, I need to go to the library for the nth time to get the other two books. NEED FINISH.
Also, I despised Fahrenheit 451. I'd never call that science fiction.

No Idea.
Re: BOOKS! BOOKS!
Has anyone read either the looking glass wars series or the ranger's apprentice?
Both pretty good series, but ranger's apprentice is pretty awesome, imho.

Re: BOOKS! BOOKS!
I thought that the original Ranger's Apprentice was pretty good, but, like many series', the author made too many sequels and IMO ruined it.
I just finished the first foundation book, which was very interesting and original (If a little bit short).

I got that from the library, but never finished it (I was reading other things at the time).
Also, I would recommend The Ladies of Grace Adieu, a companion set of short stories to Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell. They are nicely creepy.

Re: BOOKS! BOOKS!
Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchett, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nightittme, Born on a Blue Day, most horror, Poe (read the telltale heart when I was 7 - loved it! - that started my love of horror and Poe), To Kill a Mockingbird, The Princess Bride (couldn't find the unabridged version also it is not nearly as cheesy as it sounds), Inkheart(was pretty good), animal farm, the chocolate war, the Tao Te Ching (beautiful free verse poetry), assorted books in spanish (a wrinkle in time, the lion, the witch and the wardrode, etc.(in other words, good books that would be WAY to easy (and also read 10-12 times (I loved those when I was between the ages of 4 and 9))in english but are challenging in spanish b/c I'm not fluent yet))
Slight parenthetical overload.

Re: BOOKS! BOOKS!
Still reading my summer reading, because Mr. Osborne [best. English. teacher. ever.] gave us an extension of this to the end of the marking period.
Actually, The Once And Future King is quite a good book, for a medieval-time-period placed book.

The unabridged version is sheer awesomeness. Anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something.

Finished Double Helix by Sigmund Brouwer yesterday. A good book, not the best in the world, but still good. There are some very disturbing parts in it, I enjoyed it
Now I'm starting to read Blood Ties by Sigmund Brouwer, heard good things about this book...
