@BobShmob: Is the keyboardist even doing anything? Or is he just holding onto the sides of the keyboard and headbanging? I can't tell. The music also indicates no keyboard (at least the five seconds I listened to didn't).
You missed the Eurodance breakdown near the end. Also (although no one cares), Oneohtrix Point Never's new album Replicas is really, really good, and I have been enjoying Aesthetica by Liturgy more than I would normally enjoy black metal. Also, Animal Collective is still amazing, and they are coming out with a new album. LCD Soundsystem is good.

You're missing the point. The point is that they are all in ridiculous kung fu stances and swaying back and forth and it look HILARIOUS.

I don't actually *listen* to that crabcore band. More like watch the video with volume muted and laugh.

Re: Music Discussion
I'm kinda surprised it got so popular, but I still love it. Other Gotye songs are great too. Also, read his "About" page: http://gotye.com/about.htmlokohokonu wrote:@GoodUsername: Isn't that like the #1 song on Spotify? I R surprised?

I actually like Gotye. Certainly not among my favorites, but at least he's not blatantly offensive, and "Somebody That I Used to Know" encapsulates some of the better elements of 1980s pop music (Peter Gabriel, Phil Collins).
Re: Music Discussion
by pop music I meant, like, OneRepublic

Re: Music Discussion
I think you'd actually like some of his lesser-known songs even better than "Somebody That I Used to Know," Asher. And I totally agree about the 1980's vibe of that song.azer wrote:I actually like Gotye. And OneRepublic is alright. But...just alright...in my opinion.

Re: Music Discussion
I think I side with Asher.
Except on the matter of Dubstep. And the fact that he doesn't like Jazz

I never said I didn't like jazz, rather that it does not suit me musically at this stage of life. Besides, you continue to be completely close-minded on the matter of hip-hop, so you can hardly talk.

"does not suit me musically at this stage of life"
Is that some kind of code for "I don't like it"?

Re: Music Discussion
It's pretty good, but it really only makes sense in the context of a collab with James Murphy, who obviously had a big influence on the production. An Andre 3000 collab would not make sense in the context of the usual Gorillaz sound.
