Re: Thread for Drawings
I'm loving her shadow. I am terrible at doing shadows and stuff like that.

Re: Thread for Drawings
Ian- the shadow of the girl is the easiest part. You just make a new layer and draw the shadow in black, and then fiddle with the transparency until it looks good.

Re: Thread for Drawings
warning: I don't profess to have any skill at all when it comes to drawing, but I drew the Wife of Bath for Brit Lit class and I thought (for me and for using pencil) it turned out quite well. (it looks like a person! :O) She's supposed to be pretty, but old, and has a rather strong personality. I made the lines of her face more angular to show the boldness that she has in the canturbury tales. She's on the right side of the paper, which is why it looks like her face is cut off, but that's on purpose. any tips for eyes?

For me I find that coloring with pencil is a lot easier than digital stuff...
@ Jaden- I think that's pretty cool. For the eyes you may want to make the area under the eyebrows and around the eyes more shadowed than the rest of the face. Also, remember that eyes are essentially spheres stuck in your head, so they need shading too. I can't really tell if you've done this because the scan may have washed out the shading a little bit, but if you add shadow directly under the eyelid, and less severe shadow at the bottom of the eyelid it will make it seem more realistic.

Re: Thread for Drawings
I love it! the one thing, if anything, is that the colors are a bit too pastel, but really, it's awsome!

Re: Thread for Drawings
Here is:
The latest (meaning the first) installment of....
The Falcon! (this is a (fragmented) comic book I have done for my art class)
I decided I liked these drawings enough to post them. :] (PS "read" them in order, even though it picks up partway through the supposed comic book)
EDIT:
Rather than dblposting, I decided to add this bubble pixel I did:

Re: Thread for Drawings
Really nice guys! Was the Switchfoot reference intentional, Ian?
Anyway, I've gotten into high-quality sketches recently. Here are my two best:
WARNING: large images...
If you can't tell, it's Halo ODST and Assassin's Creed. My first commissions EVAR!!! (Meaning I GOT MONEYZ FOR THEM!!!) for a friend at school.
EDIT: Woops it cut the right one off... i've reuploaded them as seperate images this time.

Re: Thread for Drawings
Yes the reference was intentional, as the song actually kind of inspired the picture. so :]
Nice pictures. A note for viewers; right-clicking and viewing image is important. just sayin'.
I really like the detail and shading in your sketches jay.
And your lips and eyes look pretty awesome megan.
