The trouble with the Republicans
I really think the republicans are in a rut. The McCain campaign was designed to appease the core base, not to attract new voters, and McCain, Cheney, and Limbaugh are not doing anything to make me want to become a Republican at any point. Instead of doing what McCain promised and working with the president, they are sitting around, talking about things they find "disturbing" and coming up with no new ideas. I think that in these tough times, they need to be innovative, and help Obama instead of badmouthing him. Thoughts?

8 years of hating on Bush, Asher. I mean, heck, Bush got the same crap.
STILL gets the same crap. Where were the Democrats to help with "new innovative ideas" then? Republicans can do this for a bit, but they'll come around surely.
Obama is doing okay. He's not terrible. I just wish he would focus on something else besides health care. Interestingly, why does every democratic president always start out [or introduce in the beginning of their presidency] health care? By the way,
1) I think you're only hearing from the Republicans, at the moment, that are just going off on Obama for the way he's handling the Iran policy (which is totally wrong, Obama should not talk (or implement any MAJOR action of any kind) or else Iranian government has a new scapegoat).
2) Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Bill O'Reilly and all of those people are total idiots. Drive me nuts. But then again, so are Lou Dobbs, Keith Olbermann, etc.
Just food for thought. Cheers.

Re: The trouble with the Republicans
Well it's been a few months, and I don't think they've come around. http://mediamatters.org/research/200909300003 . The statements made here are actually kind of scary.
I think certain fringe elements in that party are gaining more and more control. They are certainly doing better, taking ossified Democratic posts in Virginia and New Jersey, but their strategy has not changed.
