Republicans vs. Democrats
Ah, the century-old debate of Republicans vs Democrats. Discuss your feelings towards either side, and try not to get too hostile.
Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
I am more democratic than republican, but I am still not very decided on the matter.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
i'm neutral in this matter because i take no part in politics.
although, i think it would be more fitting you did a conservative vs. liberal debate.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
This is the only problem about democracy, the people who decide to vote for some one just because they are handsome or something I much dislike those people

Yes! If you don't know about what you're voting for, you shouldn't vote!IzNotSpontaneous wrote:This is the only problem about democracy, the people who decide to vote for some one just because they are handsome or something I much dislike those people

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
??? So far the only on-topic response was by BobShmob. The thread is DEMOCRATS vs REPUBLICANS, not whether people are stupid to vote for candidates they no nothing about.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Both sides need better leaders. Just in the state government you have a lot of wackjobs and corrupt people.. it scares ya a bit. And to be honest, I am on neither side. People often tend to forget about Independents.
I think that the two party system has divided and hurt this country quite a bit.. I mean, the system works but it has a COMPLETE down side. People hate on the other, people slander others, it's awful.
I choose to be in the middle because I see strengths and faults with both parties. You are welcome to stand firm in whatever party you like and I won't have a problem with you if you're fair and realize the faults and strengths of your own party.
It's kind of interesting how major politics tends to weed out other parties besides the two Democrat and Republican parties.. =\

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Go Independents! If I'm not mistaken, there is a drop in both Republicans and Democrats, and a rise in Independents. ^_^

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Primaries, yes. But if we had everyone voting differently, no major candidates will be elected, which means some one who is not on the national spotlight could be elected. Being on the national spotlight is an important way to make sure a candidate has a clean background, and, though some people may go a LITTLE overboard in their studies of the lives of politicians, this process is an import means for voters to decide who to pick. If there were thousands of candidates, than there would not be a chance to do this.

I agree completely.グリフィン wrote:Both sides need better leaders. Just in the state government you have a lot of wackjobs and corrupt people.. it scares ya a bit. And to be honest, I am on neither side. People often tend to forget about Independents.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
I may be a little biased because my dad is a die-hard republican and may have slightly brainwashed me. But anyway, right now I'm not really liking either of them, especially a certain democratic leader whose name starts with O and ends with bama, but there are faults with the republicans too, I think. Actually Obama hasn't messed up too much in the past couple months but I'm talking about all the spending earlier in the year. I don't really know whether to say all democrats are like this (my dad would) because I didn't start paying attention to that until this year, but currently, I don't really like either. I just thought I was a democrat before because I didn't really like Bush, even though I didn't know THAT much about him. Oh, and according to my dad, Obama's administration tripled-no quadrupled our debt in 8 months, compared to Bush's 8 years. According to him.
Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
I couldn't do that even if I wanted to; my mom is a democrat and my dad is a republican, and you're right. Political views are not genetic!!!!okohokonu wrote:Yeah, cause I dislike people who go, Oh, my parents, their democrat, i guess I am too. T_T

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
i think a much more valid debate would be "Conservative VS Liberal".

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Obama's spending policy did double our debt. However, with the exception of the auto industry, it appears to have sent our economy on the up. Though it is still too early to decide, I also think we may recover our debt in 10-20 years. Desperate times call for desperate measures, people. Issues like this, which may amount to only minor changes in the future, are igniting people's anger way too much. About a week ago, 12 people brought loaded guns to a presidential speech, including two assault rifles. Political differences are going way out of control.
Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
well in my opinion they both suck...government will never be perfect so it doesn't matter if a republican or democrat wins any way they will just mess America up somehow . That is how it is and how it will always be.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Well, they are adding to our problems, but they're also solving problems. All we can do is try to make it so they solve problems quicker then they more than add to them.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
No offense, Jon, but i do feel it's a little odd to spend to solve a debt problem.
that's all.

Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
The debt problem is kinda bad, but that's not why the government is spending. Their spending to save the economy.
economy > government.
economy > government.
Re: Republicans vs. Democrats
Yeah, but I just can't wait for those FABULOUS taxes that are going to hit my family [actually, which already have! leaving us to worry about money and spending at times! ] I would like to research alternatives on this policy, to see what's out there on the net. There just might be a better alternative, and if there is, I'll probably be quite angry.
