Re: Movies! Discuss them!
I really don't think I was getting that vibe. I didn't notice any kind of atheist messages in there, or religious messages for that matter.District 9 is satanic in plot and theory... As it is is completely against christianity in all shape and form.
Re: Movies! Discuss them!
Well you wouldn't notice them, I don't think you're even remotely religious, at any rate.

Odd, I did not get that vibe either. I actually thought it had a Very blatant and powerful Pro life/anti abortion message. That is something which the christian community has been promoting for a long time.
It also had a core message about loving your fellow man. Yes the plot was centered around how we may segregate and look away while horrible things are done to aliens, because they are not like us. However, I thought the real goal was to point out that we do this to our fellow humans now.
And yes, "splatterific" is an accurate description.
Very realistic, but not one I would recommend any of you go see.
(But it has my vote for best film of the year.)

Re: Movies! Discuss them!
I want to see district 9, if my parents let me. I still thing Avatar is probably better, if only because of its awe-inspiring feeling of epicness.
In other news, Avatar has just become the highest-grossing film of all time.

Re: Movies! Discuss them!
lol. really. I was just wondering why people get so crazy about certain directors, i mean, i understand the infatuation of actors, but directors? really?
anyway.
I'm now no longer interested in Avatar [i know, that was quick] and I'm hoping i can see Avatar: The Last Airbender, the movie.
or, i can wait until the CSI movie comes out at the end of this season. XD
anyway.

Re: Movies! Discuss them!
that avatar movie sounds good (I have a brother who watched the whole series so I know what happens) but anywhoo you can get worked up on directors because they decide what turn the movie will have... Tim Burton has an evil/dark turn disney has a "happy ending turn"

Re: Movies! Discuss them!
The Avatar: tLA movie is supposed to be really, really bad. The only good thing I've seen about it is the costume for Aang, that's about it.
Re: Movies! Discuss them!
Interesting. Okay, my dad's probably going to take me to see Avatar. whatever.
hey, anyone interested in How To Train Your Dragon? I lawled at the title alone.

Re: Movies! Discuss them!
I just saw The Informant.
I also saw this French movie that was sort of like their equivalent of the matrix, all these guys in the future using ridiculous and implausible kung-fu techniques...all in slow motion.

I have not seen it, but I hear some people (like Alex, Steph, Shannon, etc) talking about it alll the time very annoying when I'm trying to do homeworkInsanity wrote:hey, anyone interested in How To Train Your Dragon? I lawled at the title alone.
