Comedy Club

Did I mention I'm starting an official Comedy Club at USP? Yeah. Still waiting on any updates from Mrs. Farr about a teacher sponsoring it -- she already likes the idea and once that's done it'll be official.

In the meantime, I will not be always available to run it, so while I'm the Founder and will take over whenever I get the chance to pop in, I need a President to help organize this club. Anyone interested in the job?

Here's what I've submitted as the Comedy Club proposal to Mrs. Farr:

Purpose(s):
a. Study and discuss comedy history, psychology, and technique
b. Creating concepts for comedy purposes
c. Writing comedy sketches/plays
d. Performing aforementioned sketches/plays

Organization: we'll sort that out as we go. Maybe vote on a system once we need one for writing and such.

Requests:
- Access to YouTube, please?
- Perhaps if the comedy club becomes popular enough and we actually write out some good sketches for performing, we could have our own show or be grouped with the Drama Club performers?

Add'l notes:
- no preferred room, just at least a classroom

[I'm very good at making things sound diplomatic. Whether that's sarcasm or not is up to your opinion.]

Basically, we'll watch funny stuff, see what we like about it. With all my hope maybe we'll be big enough to put on a show but I want to know how many are interested in doing so and being part of it. [I might also include some improv comedy. That'd be fun.]

Well, I'm not in High School, so I won't be joining soon, but I think that it sounds very fun and helpful for those who want to be great comedians one day or for those who just want to be able to tell a good joke.
