Country = Name?
I was recently told that Jordan and Chad are the only two common names that are also countries.
I am not sure I believe that but I could not think of any other examples.
Then the thought occurred to me. I know a group of people who collectively could come up with as many examples as exist.
So I ask the forum, can you think of any counter examples?
One stipulation. There is a trend of celebrities naming their children all kinds of odd names like Apple and Brazil. I am talking about common every day names.

Re: Country = Name?
I once encountered someone named "Jamaica."
Anyway, there are a bunch of small Caribbean countries named after someone, like St. Kitts and Tobago.
Also, the country Bolivia is named after Simon Bolivar, a revolutionary.

What about Georgia? I dunno if that counts, b/c people are called George, but I haven't heard of anyone called Georgia.

Haha. That's a state. Well yes, Georgia is a female name. It is sometimes alternatively spelled "Jorja", as in Jorja Fox (CSI actress, "Sara Sidle").

I just came to the realization of that about an hour after I posted that and I never got back to the computer to fix it. (._.)BobShmob wrote:Georgia is also a country! Look it up.Insanity wrote:Haha.
